Generation One

In 1917, Alex Goetschel founded ALGO of Switzerland. Alex was a unique businessman. He was renowned in the USA and Europe for his incredible eye and was named Manager of the Year in Switzerland for 5 consecutive years for providing top-quality products and employment during World War II. We are proud of his legacy and will always maintain his values.

Generation 2
Carlo Goetschel joined the company in 1961. Prior to ALGO of Switzerland, Carlo worked for several top couturiers in Europe. He built up the German, American, Japanese and South Korean markets and pioneered the trunk show concept. His knowledge, and applied concept, that truly a stylish woman does not want a brand, but attire that is created exclusively for her has proven highly successful.

Sylvia Goetschel joined ALGO OF SWITZERLAND in 1980 after working for the largest fashion houses in Switzerland. Since her first day, Sylvia has been responsible for design and production. Her designs set themselves apart for their ability to be highly stylish, maintain beautiful lines, and stay flexible in their ability to be custom tailored.   

Generation Three: Chief Executive Officer

Nicolas Goetschel joined the company 2004. He grew up with the business, working in various departments over the years. Nicolas studied Hospitality Management in Lausanne and worked in event management. Afterward, Nicolas acquired an MBA at Darden.

Generation 3: VP Design & Production

Philippe Goetschel entered ALGO of Switzerland in 2005. He acquired his knowledge working with a variety of manufacturers within Switzerland and Italy. Philippe works with the team to adjust the ALGO style to a new generation without jeopardizing the signature looks familiar to our clientele. Philippe knows that today’s elegant woman seeks a sophisticated and sporty look.

For a decade and a half, Anna’s professional path lifted her through the ranks of the start-up world. The majority of her roles involved building teams from inception and guiding them to maturity. In 2014, she leapt off of a creative cliff in pursuit of a second act that more wholly encompassed her professional passions. She began an interior design company where she created spaces that looked and felt like a reflection of her clients.

In 2022 she continued her creative journey with a move to Zurich to learn ALGO’s business under the tutelage of her mother-in-law, Sylvia Goetschel.
